- Recording and respecting your cookie choices: to comply with applicable privacy and electronic communications law and for our legitimate interest in demonstrating compliance.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether our interests are proportionate and whether your rights override them.
5. Information needed from you
We need enough contact and project information to respond to an enquiry or prepare a quotation. If you do not provide this, we may be unable to assist. Providing a telephone number is optional unless it later becomes necessary to arrange or deliver a service.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use Complianz to present and record cookie choices and to communicate those choices to relevant website services. Google Analytics is installed through Google Site Kit and uses Google consent mode. Analytics cookies and non-essential processing are controlled according to your consent choices. Depending on the consent-mode configuration, Google may receive consent-status information or limited cookieless signals when analytics consent is refused.
You may accept, refuse or change optional cookie choices at any time through the Cookie settings control. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Further details are available in our Cookie Policy.
Google explains how it uses information from websites using its services on its partner-sites information page.
7. Reviews and third-party resources
Our website may display reviews or resources supplied by Trustpilot, Trustindex and Google Reviews. When these resources load, the relevant provider may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information and the page visited. Trustpilot and Google may act as separate controllers for information processed through their own platforms. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy notices. Where loading a resource requires non-essential cookies or similar device access, it should be activated only with your consent.
8. Who we share data with
Where necessary, we may disclose personal data to:
- IONOS, which provides our WordPress hosting, email and form-delivery infrastructure.
- Google, in connection with Google Analytics, Site Kit and Google Reviews.
- Complianz, where its consent-management services receive or store information.
- Trustpilot and Trustindex, in connection with review content and widgets.
- Contractors supporting our website, IT systems or business operations, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required.
- A purchaser or successor if our business or assets are reorganised, sold or transferred, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Providers may act as our processors or as separate controllers, depending on the service involved. We do not sell personal data.
9. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom, including in the European Economic Area or United States. Where UK personal data is transferred to a country without UK adequacy regulations, we require an appropriate safeguard where legally required. This may include the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another legally recognised transfer mechanism. You may contact us for further information about safeguards relevant to your data.
10. How long we retain data
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary. Our usual periods are:
- General enquiries and unsuccessful quotations: up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact.
- Customer, contract, project, warranty and related correspondence records: up to six years after completion or the end of the relationship.
- Accounting and tax records: normally six years after the relevant financial year, or longer if legally required.
- Website security and server logs: normally up to 90 days, unless required for investigating an incident.
- Google Analytics user-level data: normally up to 14 months; aggregated reports may be retained longer where they no longer identify an individual.
- Browser cookie preferences: normally up to 12 months. Separate consent evidence may be retained longer where necessary to demonstrate compliance.

We may retain information for longer where required by law, a dispute, fraud-prevention needs or a legal claim. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised.
