Where Aluminium Works Well

Designed Around the Property

The right material depends on the architecture, opening sizes, intended use and look you want to achieve. We assess those factors before recommending a solution.

01

Casement & fixed layouts

Considering aluminium casement windows? Compare the opening sashes, fixed lights, handle positions and clearance outside. We confirm suitable layouts for your chosen system at survey.

02

Extensions

Aluminium can help create a consistent modern finish where new openings are part of an extension or wider refurbishment.

03

Commercial Projects

Its precise appearance can suit offices, managed properties and other commercial settings, subject to the requirements of the project.

Aluminium Colour & Finish Options

A Finish Selected Around the Design

Depending on the selected system, aluminium windows may be available in a range of neutral, grey and other contemporary finishes.

  • Finish considered alongside the building and surrounding materials
  • Ask us whether dual-colour options are suitable for your project
  • Exact colours, textures and availability confirmed before anything is ordered

Compare the complete aluminium window

Two aluminium windows can look similar while using different frame systems, glass and fittings. Use these details to compare the complete product and the installation work in your quotation.

Frame and layout
Ask for the manufacturer and system name, a drawing of the opening and fixed sections, and the relevant product literature. Compare the visible frame widths and how each opening will be used.
Glazing and performance
Check the glass specification and the documented performance of the complete window. A whole-window U-value includes the frame and glazing; it is different from a glass-only figure. Security information should also match the proposed window configuration.
Finish and fittings
Agree the inside and outside colours, finish, handles, hinges and any ventilation requirements. Confirm which options belong to the selected system rather than relying on a representative colour swatch or illustration.
Installation and handover
Set out the agreed survey, fitting, removals and finishing work, together with access arrangements and timing. Keep the product warranty, glass and hardware cover, and any separately agreed installation terms clear in the paperwork.
Product warranty
Our product warranty is 10 years, with two-year cover for glass and hardware. Ask for the relevant written terms, care requirements and exclusions, and clarify any separately agreed installation cover.

Common Questions

Aluminium Window FAQs

How much do aluminium windows cost?

Aluminium window prices are subject to survey, based on the openings and specification. Our prices include fitting, removal and the stated warranty. Check VAT treatment and any additional work in your written quotation. A large fixed pane and a window with several opening sections can have different costs, even at similar overall sizes. Glazing, finish, hardware and access also affect the price. Compare quotations for the same layout and agreed installation work using our window quotation checklist.

Are aluminium windows better than uPVC windows?

Aluminium often suits projects where slim sightlines and a contemporary finish are the priority. uPVC offers a practical alternative with straightforward upkeep and a broad choice of styles. For warmth and security, compare the exact windows being quoted: the frame material alone does not establish the performance of the complete window.

Are aluminium windows cold or prone to condensation?

Thermally broken aluminium windows use an insulating section between the inner and outer parts of the frame to reduce heat transfer. The glazing and seals also affect comfort. Condensation on the room-side surface can still occur when indoor moisture meets a cold surface, so ventilation matters alongside the window specification.

Can aluminium windows be used for large openings?

Aluminium can be considered for large glazed openings, but a fixed pane and an opening sash have different size limits. Glass weight, exposure and installation access also matter. Share your drawings or approximate dimensions so we can assess a suitable layout rather than assume that any opening can take one large window.

Can aluminium windows be a different colour inside and outside?

Dual-colour finishes are available on some aluminium systems, allowing the outside to match the building and the inside to suit the room. Availability depends on the chosen range. We confirm the exact colours, finish and any effect on price or lead time before ordering.

How long does it take to order and fit aluminium windows?

Standard aluminium windows usually have an order lead time of around four weeks. Confirm the lead time for your selected system, glazing and finish before ordering. The fitting appointment and time on site are separate, and depend on the window count, access and work needed around the openings.

What warranty comes with Pristine aluminium windows?

Our system warranty is 10 years, with two-year cover for glass and hardware. Ask for the relevant written terms for the products in your quotation, including any care requirements and exclusions, and clarify any separately agreed installation cover.

What should I send for an aluminium-window quotation?

Send your postcode, the number of openings and whether the work is replacement glazing or part of a new build or extension. Email photographs or drawings to info@pristinegrl.co.uk. Approximate sizes help the first discussion; final measurements and the agreed specification are checked at survey.

Which aluminium window brands do you supply?

Our aluminium window suppliers include Cortizo, AluNet and Origin. We confirm the exact system, opening layout, glazing and finish for your project before ordering, with matching product literature and performance information for the proposed specification.

Do you install aluminium windows across Essex?

Yes. Our Wickford-based team supplies and installs aluminium windows across Essex, including Wickford, Basildon, Rayleigh and Chelmsford. Send your postcode and project details so we can confirm survey and installation arrangements. See our service areas.
