Project Overview

A Comprehensive Aluminium Glazing Installation

Pristine Glazing & Renewables Ltd was appointed by Kind Build to carry out the installation of aluminium windows, doors, doorsets and screens as part of the construction of a new-build care home at Cornwallis Court.

The package covered aluminium glazing installation for the new care facility. At the project update on 21 August 2026, Phase 1 was complete and Phase 2 was awaiting planning progression.

Installing Aluminium Glazing on a New Build

Working as the installation contractor, Pristine coordinated closely with the site team so that the glazing package could be installed efficiently and safely as construction progressed.

As with any new-build project, coordination between different trades and project teams was essential to maintaining progress and resolving issues as they arose.

Resolving Design and Measurement Discrepancies

During Phase 1, the team identified differences between some supplied window dimensions and the site openings. The installation team reviewed the affected openings with site management before practical solutions were agreed.

Pristine was acting as the installer rather than the supplier, so the installation team worked closely with site management and the wider project team to assess the affected openings and establish practical solutions.

Maintaining clear communication allowed the issue to be addressed collaboratively, helping the works continue without unnecessary delay while protecting the quality of the installation.

Protecting Glazing Materials on Site

Particularly wet weather created a further site consideration. Heavy rainfall caused flooding within some designated window storage areas, making the protection of the aluminium units an important priority.

Pristine coordinated with the site team as conditions changed so that the units could be appropriately protected and kept in suitable condition before installation.

Clear communication and practical coordination helped the project team respond to design discrepancies and changing site conditions while maintaining progress.

Site Coordination

Problem-Solving Within a Live Construction Programme

New-build glazing installation depends on the readiness of openings, accurate design information, suitable material storage and close coordination with surrounding trades.

During Phase 1, Pristine’s installation team remained focused on the practical steps needed to protect the units, assess discrepancies and communicate clearly with the site team as circumstances changed.

This collaborative approach helped maintain progress across the glazing package while keeping responsibilities clear between the installer, site management and the wider project team.
