How much do new uPVC windows cost?
How much do new uPVC windows cost?
As a UK budgeting guide, a standard double-glazed uPVC casement window can cost around £500–£1,250 per window, according to Checkatrade’s May 2026 cost guide. This is an external national estimate, not a Pristine price or quotation. Your final cost depends on the window size, style, glazing, finish and installation work.
Always confirm whether fitting, VAT, removal and making good are included before comparing prices.
Replacing windows is easier to plan when you separate the appearance you want from the specification and work needed at your property. A small white casement and a large bay may both be described as uPVC windows, but they are different purchases.
A starting budget for replacement windows
The £500–£1,250 range is a useful reference for standard uPVC casements. Check the specification and inclusions with the installer; a published range cannot establish the cost of work at your home.
| Number of standard casements | Simple range calculation |
|---|---|
| One | £500–£1,250 |
| Five | £2,500–£6,250 |
| Eight | £4,000–£10,000 |
These totals simply multiply the external per-window range. They are not whole-house quotations, package prices or allowances for additional work. A survey and an itemised quote are needed to establish your project total.

Which types of uPVC windows can you consider?
Start with the opening arrangement and the look of your property. Our uPVC window guide explains the styles and finishes we can discuss, with the final options confirmed for your project.
| Style | What it means | What to discuss |
|---|---|---|
| Casement | Side- or top-hung opening sections. | The position of opening and fixed panes, handles and ventilation. |
| Sash | A traditional vertical-opening arrangement. | Existing proportions, opening operation and the intended appearance. |
| Bay | An angular projection with several window sections. | The complete opening, support and finishing work. |
| Bow | Several panels forming a curved appearance. | The number and size of panels and how the new assembly meets the building. |
| Georgian-style | Decorative glazing bars used with a chosen window configuration. | The bar layout, glazing and frame finish. |
What should your quotation account for?
To understand a price, ask the installer to describe the same details for every opening:
- Dimensions and layout: identify each window, the fixed panes and the opening sections.
- Frame and finish: specify the profile system, colour inside and outside, and any decorative details.
- Glazing and hardware: record the proposed glass, handles, locking arrangements and ventilation details.
- Access and installation: explain how the work will be carried out, including any access equipment.
- Removal and finishing: state how existing units are removed and what happens to the surrounding surfaces, sills and waste.
- Total and exclusions: make VAT, optional extras and any work outside the quoted scope clear.
Pristine’s uPVC product page notes that we typically use REHAU profiles. Ask for the proposed system and complete window specification in writing; a profile brand by itself does not establish the performance or price of the finished installation.
Common questions about uPVC window costs
Does the guide price include fitting and VAT?
Do not assume it does. This article uses a published national estimate, rather than a Pristine offer. Ask for a written project total that makes installation, VAT and exclusions explicit.
Can I get an exact price from photographs?
Photographs, your postcode and a window count help us understand the initial enquiry. They do not replace confirming measurements, access and the specification needed for a final quotation.
Should I compare prices per window?
Only when the windows and installation scope are comparable. Compare the full project total alongside the specification and inclusions, rather than treating all windows as identical units.
Do I need to replace every window at once?
Tell us which openings you are considering. The quotation can be discussed around that scope, including how new windows would sit alongside those you plan to retain.
